As cyber threats continue to evolve and become more sophisticated, there is a
growing need for professionals who can understand both the technical and legal dimensions of
protecting digital assets and responding to cyber incidents. The Master of Science in Cyber Security and
Cyber Law program is designed to equip students with advanced knowledge and skills in cyber security
and the legal aspects of cybersecurity.
1.Collaborative Expertise: Combines NLIU’s strong foundation in cyber law through its Rajiv Gandhi National Cyber Law Centre, (established by the Ministry of Education, GoI) and IIT Indore’s technical excellence in emerging cyber technologies.
2.Hybrid Mode of Delivery: Offers a flexible learning model with online sessions and immersive on-campus experiences at both institutions with expert faculty from IIT Indore and NLIU, Bhopal.
3.Comprehensive Curriculum: A techno-legal approach has been adopted in designing the curriculum to provide a holistic perspective on cybersecurity and law.
4.Practical Exposure: Includes real-life case studies, practical sessions and access to advanced technical resources and legal libraries at both institutions. Webinars and e-workshops will be conducted through the Learning Management System (LMS).
The objectives of the program are to equip the students with the following abilities to:
1.To Produce techno-legal professionals trained to understand the interaction of cyber security and law.
2.To Comprehend contemporary developments relating to cyber security, incident response, and digital forensics in the era of disruptive technologies.
3.To Develop effective strategies and frameworks to cater to the needs of the industry.
4.To promote research and scholarship in the cutting-edge areas of cyber security and law.
5.To promote an interdisciplinary approach to the legal profession.
Shortlisted candidates based on the written test performance will be called for an interview. The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview.
A joint committee, consisting of the expert faculty members from IIT Indore and NLIU Bhopal will conduct the interview process.

First class (as defined by the awarding Institute/ University with 5% relaxation for the SC/ ST/ PwD category) degree in
1.B.Tech./ B.E/ BS
2.Four years BSc. / MSc in Computer Science / MSc in Statistics/ MCA/ MBA or an equivalent degree with at least two courses in Mathematics and one in Computer Programming at qualifying degree level.
3.Bachelor’s degree +3 years LLB / integrated program in LLB / Integrated program in management
Qualifying Examination: An entrance test conducted at selected few locations followed by an Interview
conducted jointly by the IITI and NLIU Bhopal.
Syllabus for Entrance Test
1. Quantitative Ability Number System, Set Theory/Venn Diagram, Functions, Matrices, Probability/Statistics (class X
level), Logarithm, Permutation and Combination, Basic Algebra, Polynomials / Equations/ Roots, Ratio and Proportions, Profit Loss.
2. Basics of computer programming Basics of C Programming Language (variables, if-then-else statements, loops, functions).
3. Logical Reasoning Clocks, Calander, Blood relation, Order and Ranking, Statements and Conclusions.
4. English communication
5. General Awareness about cyber-Law
6.Different Sections of law, Types Courts and Types of Laws, etc.
